The book follows the story of a wooden 'boy' as he leaves the comfort and safety of his master's home to go on an epic journey. The journey weaves in and out of strange situations and even stranger circumstances where Pinoakio overcomes seemingly endless obstacles and begins to conquer his fears. Along the way, he meets many different creatures, some helpful and some not so much.
Angels and Fairies assist Pinoakio at critical junctures in his journey. In the last of his trials he is told he must rely upon himself to transcend to the next plane of existence.
The process by which the book took form was one of pure faith that all things would become clear in the end. Bridget did her drawings over the course of several years in a completely random fashion. No preliminary works other than thumbnail sketches where made in preparation of the final drawings. Upon completing the 45 drawings, she then laid out the sequence and wrote the story.
